# The GitHub organization

## Goals

The [`salt-extensions` GitHub organization](gh-org-ref) was established in light of the [Great Module Migration](great-migration-ref) to:

1. Provide users with a central hub for all kinds of Salt modules.
2. Offer developers and contributors a streamlined development experience.
3. Coordinate efforts during the module migration process.

## Getting involved

Your contributions are welcome, whether you're fixing bugs, enhancing extensions, improving documentation, starting a new project, migrating modules from Salt core or providing feedback.

There are several ways to connect with the community:

#### Discord
Join the [Salt community Discord][discord-invite] and participate in the `salt-extensions` channel, where many members are active.

#### Working group
The Salt Extensions working group meets regularly on Microsoft Teams. Check the [Community Calendar](https://saltproject.io/calendar/) or the Discord calendar for upcoming meetings. Meeting notes are available on [GitHub](https://github.com/salt-extensions/community).

#### GitHub discussions
